An alternative look at a Plot Segmentation

Part of my university study involves interpreting films.  Part of this involves reading plot segmentations.  Here's my spin on a sample segmentation for the Wizard of Oz I had to read:

The Wizard of Oz Plot Segmentation: Dave’s Version!

Opening Credits

Kansas

1. Miss Gulch, a bigger, ugly dog, threatens to do away with Toto, a smaller, prettier dog.
2. Dorothy runs away from home.  Befriends ostracized weirdo, who thinks he knows everything.
3. Dorothy moves house, whilst still in it.

Munchkin City

4. Dorothy meets Glinda, a most convincing transsexual.  Drops in on the wicked Witch of  the East on the way.
5. Munchkins come out of hiding, realizing she’s neither hungry, nor ugly, nor a witch.  In turn, they decide whether to take liberties with her, or bizarrely, cook her up instead.  Given she’s wearing what would be deemed provocative in the 1930s, they fear the spread of a myriad of diseases in either case and decide to leave her be.
6. Realizing that she’s landed smack bang in the middle of a fancy dress party, and if the coroner and the yodeling stroke victims are anything to go by, Dorothy decides to make like a bread truck and haul buns.
7. Wicked Witch of the East takes umbrage at Dorothy’s possession of the ruby slippers.  Starts talking about a posse and pulling gang signs.

Yellow Brick Road

8. Dorothy meets a no-brainer.
9. Dorothy befriends metalhead.
10. Dorothy comes across a deformed Griffin.
11. On the way, the trio come across Elton John.

The Emerald City

12. Dorothy stumbles upon an opium patch and mellows out.
13. The trio meet an Amish pimp in the Emerald City, who moonlights as a chauffeur.
14. Lion sings in hope that one day he’ll be king of the forest, only to realize he’s too dandy.  He soon proves this point.
15. Hopes dashed and dreams smashed, the Cowardly Lion drops his nuts and makes a break for the window.  Literally.

The Woods/Castle

16. Dorothy gets lost while scarecrow gets stuffed.
17. The Witch thinks the slippers are to die for.  Dorothy thinks otherwise.
18. Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion get dressed up.  Look slightly less silly.
19. Dorothy pours cold water over a dead issue.

The Emerald City Part II

20. The Wizard exposes himself.
21. Dorothy misses opportunity to get high with the Wizard, starts pining for the fields.
22. Dorothy somehow manages to get home.  See the last paragraph for a logical explanation.

Kansas

23. Dorothy describes Oz to the rellies.  The creepy weirdo who he thinks he knows it all comes along and admits he spiked her drink.
